THE PERSUADERS (INSTANT VIDEO) - CLASSIC BRITISH ENTERTAINMENT!
THE PERSUADERS was/is a 'very' entertaining British comedy-drama series from the ITC stable that starred Tony Curtis and Roger Moore as (polar opposite) wealthy playboys who spend their spare time as international crimestoppers. The series ran for only one season ('71-'72) before it was cancelled. Glad to see all the episodes available here on the instant video format.
In the episode, "A HOME OF ONE'S OWN" - When Danny (Tony Curtis) acquires an old derelict rundown English cottage, he has his heart set on restoring it to its former picturesque condition. While giving Brett (Roger Moore) a 'tour' of his newly acquired estate, an unknown woman is filming them from a distance and appears to have the place under surveillance - later claiming to be a bird watcher.
All is going well with Brett and Danny inside, when an uninvited guest suddenly appears - slamming a hatchet into the staircase rail exclaiming, "You're trespassing, this house is private property!" Danny...
Time warp!
Love having the ability to watch these older tv shows, especially The Persuaders. Everyone growing up in the U.S. in the 60s should watch at least one episode of this show, just to see the fashion, the cars, and the almost unbelievable over-the-top acting!
Humorous, highly entertaining series
Roger More is great as Lord Brett Sinclair!
"Greensleeves", "That's Me Over There" and "A Death in the Family" are my favorite episodes.
